Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many places is Ngee Ann Secondary offering under DSA-SEC?

In accordance with MOE guidelines, we are allowed to offer up to a cap of 10% of our Sec 1 intake which works out to be about 28 – 36 students.

2) What will the selection procedure be like? What are your selection criteria? Is there a minimum requirement?

The school invites applicants who have shown potential in sports to attend the various sports trials.

Applicants for Chinese Orchestra will be invited for trial if they are shortlisted.

3) How do I apply?

You may either download an application form from the school website or obtain a copy from the school.

4) What are the documents that I need to submit?

These are the documents to be submitted:

• Completed application form
• Certified true copy of your Report Book (including your Pri 4 to Pri 6 school examinations results)
• Certified true copy of all other supporting documents e.g. awards and prizes received, CCA records, participation in competition, letter of recommendation by teachers, instructors or coaches.

5) After I have submitted the application form, when will I know that I am being shortlisted by Ngee Ann Secondary?

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a trial/interview.

6) Do I need to undergo trials for selection?

You may be requested to attend some trial selections.

7) What happened if I am accepted by more than one school?

You will be asked to indicate your preference during the Exercise School Preference Stage.  

8) What happened if I am not qualified for the Express course?

As Ngee Ann Secondary offers Express, Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) courses, we will place you in the course that you are eligible.

9) When is the closing date for submitting the application form?

Please submit the completed application form to the school by 27 Jul 2012 (5pm).

10) When will I know that I have been selected?

You will receive a notification of your application result by 31 Aug 2012.
